Minecraft has been updated to version 1.9!


  • Added shields
  • Attacking now has a “cool-down” delay, making it more important to time your attacks
  • You can now hold items in both hands (default quick key to swap items is ‘F’)
  • Swords have a special sweep attack
  • Axes have a special crushing blow attack
  • Added the elytra
  • New mob: Shulker
  • Expanded The End
  • Added Chorus plants
  • New Purpur blocks
  • New End Rod block
  • Added dragon head block
  • Ender Dragon can be resummoned
  • Added beetroot and beetroot soup (from MC:PE)

Minecraft 1.9 Summon Command Generator


With the new minecraft 1.9 snapshots the old command generator will not work. The new Minecraft 1.9 Summon Command Generator allows you to use 2 hand slots for your custom mobs. You can also choose a shield to hold in one of your hand slots. More updates coming soon!!

New Summon Command Generator


The Summon Command Tool has been updated to include:

• Individual item names
• Individual item lore
• Multiple Enchantments for items
• Potion Effects (work in progress)
• Item names instead of ID's
• Items with drop chance set to 100% will drop with no damage to them
• Items can now be set to Unbreakable
• Added NoAi, Invunerable, silent, persistant tags
• Added position, motion and rotation tags
• Added ToolTips to enchantments, potions and Spawner options
• Added function to create a spawner for your mobs

Bunny Rabbits


Bunny Rabbits have been added in the 14w27a snapshot. There are 8 different types of rabbits including a killer rabbit called the Killer Rabbit of Caerbannog. Rabbits can be tamed and bred using carrots and dandelion.

How to spawn a rabbit


In the chat window (Press T or /) type:

New Mob: Guardian


New Mob: Guardian

The latest snapshot 14w25a sees the addition of a new underwater mob called a Guardian.

• Spawns in new ocean monuments
• Attacks squid and players with a web/beam
• Drops Prismarine Shards, Prismarine Crystals and raw fish

There is also a boss variant of the Guardian called an Elder Guardian, there are 3 elder guardians in every ocean monument. When killed they drop a wet sponge block.

How to summon a Guardian


In the chat window (Press T or /) type:

Ocean Monuments


The Ocean Monument is a new underwater generated structure made out of the new blocks: Prismarine, Prismarine Bricks, Dark Prismarine and sea lanterns

You will find 8 gold blocks at the center of the monument.

New Enchantment: Depth Strider


An new enchantment has been added called Depth Strider. It will be useful for exploring the new ocean monuments.

• Allows the player to move faster in water

Title Command Added


Title Command Added

Minecraft 1.8 will see the introduction of the new /title command. This will allow you to display a title and subtitle that will popup on screen for a set amount of time.

How to use the title command


In a command block add the following:
/title @a title{text:"Add Title",color:"Add Color"}
example: /title @a title{text:"Welcome To Minecraft", color:"red"}

To add a subtitle add this code to another command block next to the one above:
/title @a title{text:"Add Title",color:"Add Color"}
example: /title @a subtitle{text:"Version 1.8", color:"blue"}

To set the time the title appears add this to another command block:
/title @a times fade in time duration fade out time
example /title @a times 20 123 20

Make sure all of the command blocks are connected and activate them with a redstone device.

How to make multicolored titles


/title @a title[{text:"One",color:"red"},{text:"Two",color:"green"},{text:"Three",color:"blue"}]

You can also use the following tags to style the text:
bold:true/false
italic:true/false
underlined:true/false
strikethrough:true/false
obfuscated:true/false

Colors available: black, dark_blue, dark_green, dark_aqua, dark_red, dark_purple, gold, gray, dark_gray, blue, green, aqua, red, light_purple, yellow, white

World Customization Preview


Here's a quick preview of an upcoming feature for Minecraft 1.8 which will allow players to create their own wild and crazy terrain!

There are 16 sliders which can be used to affect various aspects of Minecraft's terrain generator, but you can also type in values directly. You also have complete control over things like the sea level and what structures you want to generate.

A new invisible block has been added in the 14w05 snapshot that allows map makers to create an invisible 'force field' around an area.

The blocks can only be destroyed in creative mode.

Spectator Mode


Spectator Mode

A new game mode has been added which allows spectators to fly around the world without being seen by non spectators. As a spectator you can fly through blocks (no-clip) and even take the POV of a player or mob (by left clicking on them), allowing you to see what they see! You can exit the POV by pressing your crouch button.

Looking through the eyes of some mobs add some shader effects that show how they see the world.

• Enderman, everything is inverted
• Creepers, everything is green
• Spiders, multi-vision (see screenshot)

How to spawn a command block


I get a lot of people asking how they can get the command block after updating to the latest snapshot. Well, you can no longer use item id's with the /give command. You must now use the item name. So to spawn a command block you would bring up the chat window ('T' or '/') and type:

/give @p command_block

• Trading now gives experience
• Trades are now unlocked more freely
• Villager profession is now displayed in trade GUI
• Villagers start out with 2 trades unlocked

Librarian (Buys stacked written books, offers different enchanted books)
Cleric (Sells redstone and lapis, buys ender pearls and rotten flesh
Fisherman (Buys string, coal, cooks normal fish, sells enchanted fishing rods)
Farmer (Buys melon blocks, pumpkins, potatoes, carrots, sells cake and pumpkin pie)
Fletcher (Buys string, sells bows, converts 10 gravel into 10 flint)
Shepherd (Sells colored wool)
Leatherworker (Buys leather, sells leather armor and enchanted leather armor)
Armorer (Sells enchanted diamond armor, iron armor, chain armor)
Tool Smith (Sells enchanted iron shovel/pick and enchanted diamond pick)

3 New Types Of Stone


3 New Types Of Stone

There are 3 new types of stone blocks found around the minecraft 1.8 world, they are Granite, Diorite and Andesite. They are very common and spawn naturally around regular stone blocks.

You can create polished versions of each of these new stones by placing them in a 2x2 pattern in the crafting grid.

Lockable Chests


Lockable Chests

You now have the ability to lock chests in Minecraft that can only be opened with a 'Key'.

How to lock a chest



Stand on top of the chest you wish to lock and bring up the chat window (T) and type:

/blockdata ~ ~-1 ~ {Lock:"keyname"}

Replace 'keyname' with a password of your choice.

How to create the key to a locked chest



You need to have an item with the same name as your password. So place an item in an anvil and rename it to match your keyname.

Right clicking on a locked chest with your 'Key' will open the chest.
